Day 21: Faceless Self Portrait

Day 21: Faceless Self Portrait. It was a long day that followed a long night. After a good run outside, dinner was grilling, it was that time of day - beer time.

Day 20: Bokeh

Day 20: Bokeh. Bokeh is that out of focus part of the photo in relation to the focused part.  In this case, the flowers are focused and the remaining garden and fence is out of focus.  Bokeh demonstrates depth and visual interest.

If you are my neighbor and were wondering why I walked onto your side yard to take a picture of your flowers, with a baby in a stroller and a dog on a leash, I promise I'm not that crazy! You have nice flowers and my kid is sick of posing for me for my photo challenge :)

Day 19: Something Orange

Day 19: Something Orange. These are my pumpkins from my very own little pumpkin patch. Can't wait to carve them!

Day 18: Shoes

Day 18: Shoes. I know I already posted some shoes but these make me swoon. They make me feel like a serious rock star. I like to pretend that they have super powers and when I wear them, great things happen.

Day 17: Technology

Day 17: Technology. Here's Joaquin figuring out how to use my iPhone.

Day 16: Long Exposure

Long Exposure. Here's my best attempt with sparklers in my backyard tonight. My sister sacrificed her fingers for this one!

Day 15: Silhoette

Christmas Card Time!

Here are the four Christmas Card Templates that you may choose from if you choose to have me complete your Christmas Card orders.  Pretty cute, huh?

What to wear to your photo session

I almost always get two questions when I schedule a photo session.  The first one is always "Do you have any suggestions for locations?".  Of course I can rattle off a dozen places in the area that are perfect for whatever the session may be; family, children, couples, etc.  Although, I admit it is hard to imagine what any location may look like in your mind.  Maybe you've never been there or haven't been in a long time.  So, to help you out, I've added a new "Pricing and Locations" section to my website.  Click here if you'd like to check it out.

The second question I always get is "What should I wear?".  This is a big one because you want to look good in your photos.  Your grandchildren are going to see these someday so you always want to look your best.  It's hard though, not to think too much about it.  I always do this:  "I want my personal style to be seen, but I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard.  I want to be comfortable but not frumpy.  I want to wear natural makeup but don't want to look like I just woke up.  Can you photoshop a double chin??"  I'm sure I'm not the only one that does this.  So to help you all out, I've also added a "What to Wear" document that should ease the anxiety as you plan your outfits.  You can view it below or to see it full size, click here.

Day 14: Eyes

Day 14:  Eyes.  Once again, my husband has fallen victim to me forcing him to model for me :)

Day 13: Yourself with 13 things

Day 13:  Yourself with 13 things.  These are my hands, holding 13 corks from just some of my favorite wineries.

Day 12: Sunset

Day 12:  Sunset.  I miss seeing this sunset every night in Cayucos.

Day 11: Something Blue

Day 11:  Something Blue.  I love these shoes!  They don't exactly love me back but I don't care!  They are sooo pretty!

Day 10: A Childhood Memory

Day 10:  A Childhood Memory.  I don't know any girl that was given chalk to play with and didn't immediately make a hopscotch.

Baby A

Here's Baby Ayden.  Isn't he the cutest?  He showed up to the CA Citrus Park still sleeping and he just did not want to wake up!  But he warmed up and started showing me his personality.  He loves to look around and absorb everything he can see.  He loves being with his mommy as you can see below.  He was just a doll.

Day 9: Someone you love

Here's Joaquin.  He's all bundled up on the beach getting ready to charge after some sea gulls.  I know it's cliche for a mom to put up a photo of her own kid, but whatev!  I'm a proud mama and I LOVE my baby boy!

Day 8: A Bad Habit

I am the WORST when it comes to checking if I am visible in a reflection.  I got so excited seeing Jack in the window, looking down at my husband, that I should him without noticing that I was right there!  How creepy is that shadow??

Day 7: Fruit

These are Roussanne grapes from Tablas Creek vineyard in Paso Robles.  They are growing some of the best  Rhone varietals in California and I look forward to tasting their newest wine every year.  Mmm makes me want a glass right now :)

Day 6: From a low angle

Ok, so this is on the same day but I couldn't help myself!  These flowers looked so gorgeous with their backs to the sun.

Day 5: From a high angle

This is overlooking highway 46 in Templeton, CA.  My husband and I were driving from Paso Robles, CA back to Cayucos and I made him stop the car so I could snap a few good shots.  Doesn't this just make you want to camp out there and just live there for the rest of your life?

Day 4: Something Green

Day 3: Clouds

30 Day Challenge, Day 2

Day 2:  What did you wear today?

30 Day Photography Challenge

I saw this on Pinterest (my new addiction!) and decided that I'm going to do this.

Here is my Day 1:  Self Portrait (which I was utterly terrified of doing, but here goes...)

Jodi Rose

I was really excited to sneak my way into some old train tracks and some tagged up train cars.  I drive by them on a daily basis and finally got brave enough to hike my way in there and take some photos.  I was so fortunate to do this with Jodi because she is as creative as I am and I felt like we could do anything.  We were so lucky that the heat wasn't killing us and the sun was positioned just right for what we wanted to capture.
